The weather continues to play havoc with the racing program at Lakeville Speedway and it tightened its grip again on Friday night. Persistent showers and the forecast for even more during the evening hours forced promoter Randy Young to cancel the evening activities at the Holmes County dirt track.
The chase to the championship has many flavors already as the Late Models have had two different points leaders in the few races that have been able to run.Defending champion Rick Bond was on the top of the points until medical issues side lined him for a couple of weeks of racing.With winning the make up race and the regular nights feature on June 19th. Charlie Duncan has now taken over the titl run with 248 points as Mike Lonas has secured the runner up position with 224 points.Travis Mensching, Kevin Wright and J.R.Gentry are the balance of the top five.
Almost the same has happened in the Tri State Modifieds as Tanner Wilson has now won three feature and has bounced to the top of the points.He also took two wins in the one night program due to the make up format and now leads previous points leader Rory Reed by only 16 points.Scott Clantz has vaulted to third with Jimmy Smith and Hilton Leppley fourth and fifth.
Todd Swim has a very thin margin of 6 points over Josh Miller in the Pure Stocks with Bob Daugherty in third,Denny Shear holds on to fourth and JohnnyMoore is fifth.
Kevin Stamper has taken a 7 point lead over his brother Bobby Stamper in the Bomber division as Josh Ramirez is only one point behind in third,Michael Rose is fouth and Brad Hensel is fifth.
Steve Foley has reached the winner circle three times this year and that has kept him at the top in the Cruisers.Glenn Elliott stays within striking distance as he is only 14 markers in second place.Seth Dickerson is third,Sonny Flannery is fourth and Pauley Hess rounds out the top five. Lakeville Speedway will be back in action on Friday night July 1st with the annual Sparklebration to start the holiday weekend along with the vist of the Vintage Race Cars which have always been a fan favorite yearly event.
