Date: Sunday, July 10 @ 16:52:53 CDT Topic: Results
It is very difficult to stay perfect in any aspects of life, however Charlie Duncan has almost been able to do that in the Super Late Model division at Lakeville Speedway this year as he has won six of the seven feature events. It appears that he has found something that has kept him at the forefront of the chase to the championship points battle.
This last Friday night he won his heat race with ease and lined up in the fourth place on the grid for the finale. It only took him about half a lap to charge to the point and was never challenged the balance of the twenty five laps as he won by about a starightaway margin and lapped up to the fourth place car. Although Duncan checked out on the field there was some very good side by side battles as Mike Lonas and Rick Bond hooked up as did Cody Parker and Ryan Eddleblute. Bond was the pole setter and Lonas started fifth. Eddleblute worked from his eighth place start. Duncan went on to his sixth victory as Lonas secured second place, Bond was third, Eddleblute was fourth and Parker gathered in fifth. Heat wins went to Parker and Duncan.
David Bodkins raced to his first career win in the Tri State Modified division as he was able to hold off the many challenges that he got from Kyle Brown and Larry Kugel. Behind the leader and runner up positions on the track had two very good races going on as well as Tom Bruck had his hand full of points leader Tanner Wilson. As the checkered was shown, Bodkins was first with Brown taking second, Kugel was third, Bruck took fourth and Wilson was fifth.Bodkins and Bruck won the two heat races.
Bob Daugherty has started his run for the points leader position as he made it three in a row in the Pure Stocks and the two other drivers that are at the top of that list finished second and third. Those two being Todd Swim and Josh Miller. Miller was the seond place finisher and Swim took third. Johhny Moore and Denny Shear rounded out the top five. Tim Glassburn and Swim took the heat wins.
The same battle for the points title exists in the 4 Cylinder Bomber class as Bobby Stamper went to the winners circle with Michael Rose finishing second, Chris Priebe third, Dustin Cyrus fourth and Steve Quicksall fifth. Kevin Stamper and Priebe won the two heats.
Steve Foley won for the third time in the Classic Cruisers with Jim Gerbasi second, Mike Graber in third, Andrew Myers was fourth and Pauley Hess fifth.Seth Dickerson was the heat winner.
