The is an old song that says two out of three aint bad and I believe Charlie Duncan has to really love it as he did exactly that on Friday night on Wright Choice Used Car night in the Rod Eddleblutes Garage Super Late Models. He had won the heat race and had earned the pole position for the feature event.Duncan actually went flag to flag for his second win this year, however it was not that easy as he had constant pressure from Travis Mensching in the first half of the race then Mike Lonas moved to the runner up spot and he also tried everything he had to dip under the leader several times.Duncan did an excellent job of holding off this pressure and was the first to the finish line.Lonas held onto second with Mensching finishing third,David Liles was fourth and Rick Bond was fifth.
Tanner Wilson blasted out to a sizable lead in the early stages of the Tri State Modified feature only to have his chances come to an end as he coasted to a stop on lap eight. That moved Jimmy Smith to the point as the field was reassembled in a single file restart.Smith went on to get his first feature win of the year with Tom Bruck hanging tough in second place,Kyle Brown was third, fourth place went to Scott Clantz and fifth was taken by Rory Reed.Smith and Wilson also won the two heat races.
Josh Miller and Justin Patterson put on an exciting display on how to race very close and not touch each other as they went side by side for the last four laps after Bob Daugherty rolled to a stop with mechanical problems after he had mounted a challenge for the lead against Miller.Miller took his first win as Patterson finished a very close second with Todd Swim in third,Tim Arnold fourth and Denny Shear fifth.Patterson and Daugherty was victorious in the two heats.
Dustin Cyrus broke into the win column for the first time this year as he went flag to flag in the Atom's Pest Control 4 Cylinder Bombers. He had won the earlier heat race and redrew the outside front row spot for the feature. The very close battle for second place lasted the entire race as Michael Rose,Jason St John,Brad Hensel,Tim Jenson and Jason King were all running sometimes three wide in the runner up spot.At the end it was Cyrus followed by Hensel,St John,Rose and Jenson.Hensel was the other heat winner.
Steve Foley continues to lead the points battle in the Lake Wappason Campgrounds Classic Cruisers as he recorded his second win of the year.Glenn Elliott Jr took second,Pauley Hess was third,Terry Myers was fourth and Seth Dickerson was fifth.Dickerson won the heat race.
